As the son of a former professional football player and College Football Hall of Fame coach, Pat has been involved in football since he was a young child. After graduating from Auburn University and then finishing at the top of his law school class, he combined his lifelong background in football with his legal training to become a very successful sports attorney. He has negotiated dozens of landmark contracts for NFL stars, including Hall of Fame inductees, over the course of four different decades.
With more than 30 years experience in the industry, Pat is known as much for his professionalism and honesty as he is for his effective client representation. In fact, his reputation for integrity is such that major universities frequently ask him to address players on the pitfalls of choosing an agent, while he is also a regular guest speaker at sports law seminars. Above and beyond his professional success, Pat cherishes the personal relationships he enjoys with his clients more than anything else.
I’ve known of Pat and his family since the 1970s, when his father was an assistant coach at Alabama, where I played college ball. I have known Pat professionally ever since I started working in the Browns front office in 1991. He knows football because he grew up around the game, and that helps him a lot in advising his clients during their career. I also know that I can trust Pat.
