Pat Dye, Jr.
As the son of a former professional football player and College Football Hall of Fame coach, Pat has been involved in football since he was a young child. After graduating from Auburn University and then finishing at the top of his law school class, he combined his lifelong background in football with his legal training to become a very successful sports attorney. He has negotiated dozens of landmark contracts for NFL stars, including Hall of Fame inductees, over the course of four different decades.
With 30 years experience in the industry, Pat is known as much for his professionalism and honesty as he is for his effective client representation. In fact, his reputation for integrity is such that major universities frequently ask him to address players on the pitfalls of choosing an agent, while he is also a regular guest speaker at sports law seminars. Above and beyond his professional success, Pat cherishes the personal relationships that he enjoys with his clients more than anything else.
“I’ve known of Pat and his family since the 1970’s when his father was an assistant coach at Alabama, where I played college ball. I have known Pat professionally ever since I started working in the Browns front office in 1991. He knows football because he grew up around the game and that helps him a lot in advising his clients during their career. I also know that I can trust Pat.”Ozzie Newsome, General Manager & Executive Vice Pres. - Baltimore Ravens
Bill graduated from East Carolina University and entered the business of sports more than 20 years ago. Early in his long tenure in the sports industry, Bill packaged and negotiated more than $100 million in corporate sponsorships for the NBA’s Orlando Magic. During his time with the Magic, he also worked closely with the players and saw a relative lack of quality representation for professional athletes.
Consequently, he welcomed the opportunity to provide athletes with competent guidance by joining SportsTrust in 1998. Since his arrival, he has negotiated more than a billion dollars in NFL contracts, including a number of landmark deals for clients who amazingly had never been to the Pro Bowl. Among his many accomplishments, he was selected by the NFLPA as one of only four agents in the country to assist in rewriting the new agent certification test. Bill’s energy, experience and effectiveness will help him and SportsTrust remain a true powerhouse for many years to come.
“As the Eagles General Manager, I have worked with countless agents. In my experience working with Bill Johnson, he is always professional, well prepared and very effective. He clearly has a passion and conviction about his clients when he’s negotiating their contracts, but he’s also pleasant to deal with.”Howie Roseman, General Manager - Philadelphia Eagles
